UTK Academic Calendar 2022-2023 contains important academic dates and deadlines. A semester system is used at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Most semester systems last between 14 and 16 weeks and have three terms: Fall, Spring, and Summer.

On July 14, 2022, you can find information about your statement at myutk.utk.edu.
Graduate students have until August 19, 2022, to apply for graduation in the fall of 2022 and be admitted to candidacy.
The last day to pay for priority registration is August 22, 2022. UTK Canvas Guide is a place to look.
On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, students will move into UTK.
On Wednesday, August 24, 2022, fall classes at UTK will start.
On August 24, 2022, you can sign up late or pay a fee.
August 29, 2022 is the last day to add or drop a course without getting a “W” for the first session.
The last day to register, add, change grading options, or drop a full-session course without getting a “W” is August 30, 2022.
Late Registration Payment deadline is September 2, 2022.
Monday, September 5, 2022, is Labor Day.
September 7, 2022, is the last day to change hours for figuring out who gets financial aid.
From Thursday, October 6, 2022, to Friday, October 7, 2022, UTK will be on fall break.
The first session will end on October 14, 2022.
The last day to drop a course with a “W” grade is October 14, 2022.
The second session starts on October 17, 2022.
The last day to add or drop a 2nd Session course without getting a “W” is October 24, 2022.
The last day for graduate students to set up a defense of their dissertation is October 28, 2022.
Wednesday, November 23, 2022, there are no classes.
The Thanksgiving holiday is from Thursday, November 24, 2022, to Friday, November 25, 2022.
The last day to drop a 2nd Session course with a “W” is December 7, 2022.
The last day to drop a full-term course with a “W” grade is December 7, 2022.
The deadline for dropping out of college completely is December 7, 2022.
Full and second session classes end on December 7, 2022.
Thursday, December 8, 2022, is Study Day.
From Friday, December 9, 2022, to Thursday, December 15, 2022, there will be fall exams.
On December 15, 2022, the Graduate Hooding Ceremony will take place at the Thompson Boling Assembly Center and Arena.
On December 16, 2022, at 9 a.m., the graduation ceremony will be held at the Thompson Boling Assembly Center and Arena.
On the transcript, the official date of graduation is December 17, 2022.

Classes for the winter of 2023 start on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
Monday, January 16, 2023 is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
The last day of winter school is Friday, January 20, 2023.

Dates for the spring semester of 2023 at UTK

Classes for spring 2023 start on January 23, 2023.
The first session will end on March 10, 2023.
From Monday, March 13, 2023, to Friday, March 17, 2023, UTK will be on spring break.
The second session starts on March 20, 2023.
Thursday, April 6, 2023, is a day with no school.
Spring break ends on April 7, 2023.
Full-year and second-year classes end on May 9, 2023.
Study Day Wednesday, May 10 2023.
From Thursday, May 11, 2023, to Wednesday, May 17, 2023, spring 2023 exams will be held.
