URI Academic Calendar 2022-2023: Important Dates

The University of Rhode Island URI academic calendar has important dates like add/drop deadlines, final exam schedules, holiday schedules, and more.

URI academic calendar fall 2022

The fall semester of 2022 at URI will be 16 weeks long. Here are the important dates and deadlines on the URI academic calendar for the fall of 2022.

1. For both new and returning students, move-in day at URI for the fall of 2022 is from Thursday, September 1, 2022, to Sunday, September 4, 2022. Each residence hall will have a set date for moving in, and students will choose a time to move in through URI MyHousing to spread out the crowds.
2. The day for advising is September 6, 2022.
3. On September 7, 2022, fall classes at URI will begin. All classes start their pro-rata billing periods.
4. The Open Add Period for URI e-Campus is from September 7, 2022, to September 13, 2022.
5. URI Number of Permission for e-Campus The date range for the Late Add Period is September 14 to September 20, 2022.
6. The Pass/Fail Option can be added until September 20, 2022.
7. Courses dropped on or after September 29, 2022, will be marked with a “W,” which stands for “withdrawal” (transcript).
8. On October 10, 2022, it’s Columbus Day, so school and work are closed.
9. The last day for students to drop courses in e-Campus is October 19, 2022. (late drop form required after this date).
10. On the URI academic calendar for 2022-2023, midterm is on October 21, 2022.
11. The last day to change from Pass/Fail is October 21, 2022.
12. Freshmen Midterm grades and surveys are due by noon on October 25, 2022, in e-Campus.
13. On November 8, 2022, people will vote. There are no classes, and the office is closed.
14. Friday Classes meet (Veterans Day Class makeup) on November 9, 2022.
15. On November 11, 2022, it will be Veteran’s Day. There are no classes, and the office is closed.
16. From November 24 to November 27, 2022, is Thanksgiving break.
17. Fall 2022 classes will end on December 13, 2022.
18. The day for reading is December 14, 2022.
19. Final Exam is December 15, 2022, through December 16, 2022, and December 19, 2022, through December 21, 2022.
20. Final Exam Make-Up Day is December 22, 2022. It is only used when there is an official delay or cancellation because of snow.
21. By 12 p.m. on December 28, 2022, final grades are due in e-Campus.
22. The official date for graduation in December 2022 is December 31.
23. From May 20 to 22, 2023, there will be Commencement Ceremonies.

URI academic calendar Winter J Term 2023

Here are the important dates and due dates for the Winter J term at URI in 2023.

1. Winter J-Term On Monday, October 31, 2022, you can start pre-registering.
2. New Year’s Day is on Monday, January 2, 2023. (classes meet, offices are closed).
3. Classes for the Winter J Term of 2023 begin on Monday, January 2, 2023.
4. The last day to add or drop a class and get a full refund is Monday, January 2, 2023.
5. Tuesday, January 3, 2023, is the last day to drop a class and get half of your money back.
6. Monday, January 16, 2023, is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. There are no classes, and the office is closed.
7. Friday, January 20, 2023, is the last day of classes for the Winter J Term 2023.
8. Final grades for the Winter J Term of 2023 are due in e-Campus on Saturday, January 21, 2023, before the first day of classes for Spring 2023.

URI academic calendar spring 2023

The Spring 2023 semester at URI is 15 weeks long. Here are the important dates and deadlines for Spring 2023 on the URI academic calendar.

1. The 20th of January, 2023, is Advising Day.
2. Classes for spring 2023 start on January 23, 2023.
3. From January 23 to January 29, 2023, anyone can sign up for e-Campus.
4. Permission Number for e-Campus From January 30 to February 5, 2023, you can add late.
5. The last day to add a Pass/Fail option is February 5, 2023.
6. Courses dropped on or after February 14, 2023, will be marked with a “W,” which stands for “withdrawal” (transcript).
7. On February 20, 2023, Presidents Day will be a holiday. There are no classes, and the office is open (Snow emergency makeup day if needed).
8. The last day for students to drop courses in e-Campus is March 6, 2023. (late drop form required after this date).
9. On the URI academic calendar for 2022-2023, midterm will be on March 8, 2023.
10. URI From March 13 to March 19, 2023, is Spring Break. There are no classes, but the office is open.
11. Freshmen Midterm grades and surveys are due in e-Campus by 12:00 pm on March 21, 2023.
12. The last day to change from Pass/Fail is March 24, 2023.
13. Spring 2023 classes will end on May 1, 2023.
14. Reading day is May 2, 2023 – May 3, 2023. If you need to make up a class and the Provost agrees, you can.
15. URI Spring 2023 final examination is on May 4 – May 5, 2023 & May 8 – May 10, 2023.
16. Final grades for the spring of 2023 are due in e-Campus by 12 p.m. on May 16, 2023.
17. On May 20, 2023, there will be a graduation ceremony.
18. The ceremony for undergraduates is on May 21, 2023.

URI academic calendar summer 2023

Here are the important dates and deadlines for the summer of 2023 on the URI academic calendar.

1. On February 6, 2023, people can sign up online for the summer of 2023.
2. Summer Session 1 on May 18, 2023, Summer Session 2 on June 22, 2023, and Summer Session 3 on May 19, 2023, all have under-enrolled courses that are cancelled.
3. URI Summer 2023 classes start on May 22, 2023, for Summer Session 1 and Summer Session 3, and on June 26, 2023, for Summer Session 2.
4. The last day to add classes for Summer Sessions 1 and 3 is May 26. Summer Session 2 can be added until June 30, 2023.
5. The last day to drop with a 100% Adjustment of Fees is May 23, 2023 for Summer Session 1, June 27, 2023 for Summer Session 2, and May 26, 2023 for Summer Session 3.
6. Summer Session 1 has a DROP period from May 24 to May 28, 2023. Summer Session 2 has a DROP period from June 28 to July 2, 2023, and Summer Session 3 has a DROP period from May 26 to May 29, 2023.
7. DROP Period with 50% Fee Adjustment is May 29–May 30, 2023 for Summer Session 1, July 3–July 4, 2023 for Summer Session 2, and May 30–June 2, 2023 for Summer Session 3.
8. On the URI academic calendar for 2022-2023, the Memorial Day holiday is on May 29, 2023.
9. Monday On June 2, 2023, Session 1 and Session 3 will be held.
10. July 4, 2023, is Independence Day.
11. Independence Day make-up classes will be held on July 7, 2023, for sessions 2 and 3.
12. The last day to drop out is June 2, 2023 for Summer Session 1, July 7, 2023 for Summer Session 2, and June 9, 2023 for Summer Session 3.
13. Summer Session 1 has a midterm on June 7, 2023, Summer Session 2 on July 12, 2023, and Summer Session 3 on June 23, 2023.
14. Summer Session 1 classes end the week of June 19, Summer Session 2 classes end the week of July 24, and Summer Session 3 classes end the week of July 24, 2023.
15. Final grades for the summer of 2023 must be entered into e-Campus by 5 p.m. on June 30, 2023 for Session 1 and by 5 p.m. on August 4, 2023 for Sessions 2 and 3.
