Webmail with uManitoba is simple to use. You must constantly log in and check your UM email as a student to make sure you don’t miss any crucial information. To access UM Learn, you must have a valid UM email account.

How to log into umanitoba webmail
To get to UM email,
- Navigate to umanitoba.ca/email.
- Click the “UM student and staff email” tab on the page.
- You’ll then be sent to the Microsoft Outlook page.
- Enter your UM email address.
- Enter your password to log in.
- Select the Outlook app after that.
How to Activate your UMnetID
Staff and students at the University of Manitoba have access to a range of online resources, including UM Learn, Jump, campus wireless internet, lab and classroom PCs, and U of M email.

- You require your employee or student ID number.

- After 48 hours, a student who accepts their admissions offer can activate their umnetID.

How to create your UM account
Click “Create UMnetID” on our new identity and account access solution signUM.
- Your last name, student or staff number, and birthdate must be entered.
- Read the usage agreement, then agree to it.
- To use Office 365, students must read and accept the usage agreement.
- Click after responding to the Password and Challenge questions. Submit
- Your claim to your UMnetID and UM email account was successful.
- Finally, be sure not to tell anyone your password.
How to change your UM password
You might be able to reset your password on your own by going to Iridium if you’ve forgotten it or misplaced it.
You must have logged into signUM before and given the answers to your security questions for it to be able to reset your password.
Resetting your password from signUM
- Visit signum.umanitoba.ca
- Next, select Forgot Password.
- If you have previously logged into signUM, you should have already set up three of the security questions that will be asked of you.
- You will be asked to choose a new password if you correctly respond to your three secret questions.
Resetting your password without signUM
To have your password reset, you must contact or go to the IST Service Desk.
You’ll receive a new password from the service desk, which you can use to log into signUM, change your password, answer your security questions, and enable or disable any accounts you might require access to.
