UCSB Academic Calendar 2022-2023: Important Dates

At UCSB, a quarter lasts 11 weeks, with 10 weeks of classes and one week for tests. Here are the dates for each quarter on the academic calendar for 2022-2023 at UCSB.

UCSB academic calendar fall 2022

The UCSB Fall term of 2022 will have 49 days of class. The first day of the fall quarter is September 18, 2022, and the last day is December 9, 2022.

On Monday, August 29, 2022, New Undergraduates can start registering for Fall 2022 with Pass 2.
Monday, September 5, 2022, is Labor Day.
Registration Pass 3 for Fall 2022 starts on Monday, September 12, 2022, through UCSB GOLD.
Thursday, September 15, 2022, is the last day to pay the Undergraduate Fee.
For the fall of 2022, UCSB’s move-in weekend will be from September 17 to September 18, 2022.
On September 18, 2022, the UCSB Fall Quarter starts.
From September 19 to September 21, 2022, there will be activities for the Welcome week.
The UCSB graduation ceremony is on September 19, 2022.
Thursday, September 22, 2022, is the first day of fall classes at UCSB. The first day of school at UCSB.
September 28, 2022, is the last day you can drop without paying a $3 penalty.
September 28, 2022 is the last day to add without an approval code.
The last day to change G/O without having to pay a $3 fee is October 5, 2022.

The last day you can add classes is October 12, 2022, and the last day you can drop classes is October 19, 2022.
Parents and Family Weekend will take place on November 4 and 5, 2022.

From Thursday, November 24, 2022, to Friday, November 25, 2022, UCSB will be on Thanksgiving break.
The last day of classes for fall 2022 is Friday, December 2, 2022.
Exams for the fall of 2022 start on December 3, 2022, and end on December 9, 2022.
The end of the Fall Quarter is December 9, 2022.
Wednesday, December 14, 2022, is the last day to turn in grades for Fall 2022.
From Friday, December 23, 2022, to Monday, January 2, 2023, UCSB will be on winter break.

The UCSB winter term of 2023 will have 48 days of classes. Winter quarter begins on January 9, 2023, and ends on March 24, 2023.

On January 16, 2023, it will be Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The Spring term at UCSB in 2023 has 48 days of classes. The first day of spring quarter is April 3, 2023, and the last day is June 16, 2023.

From March 25 to April 1, 2023, UCSB will be on spring break. At UC Santa Barbara, Spring break is the time between the end of Winter quarter and the start of Spring quarter.

May 29, 2023, is Memorial Day.
The last day of winter school is June 9, 2023.
