The email address for Western Kentucky University students is TopperMail. It has several useful collaboration capabilities, a strong email client with an integrated calendar, and much more.

After registering for your first course at WKU, you will receive a TopperMail email address within the following 24-48 hours. When you are admitted to the university, you do not immediately receive a WKU email account; you must first sign up for classes.
How to log into toppermail
to check or access your webmail at WKU;
- Go to wku.edu/its/webmail.
- Choose a user account.
- Enter in your full WKU email address.
- Enter in your WKU email password.
- Press Sign In.
The “Windows Live ID” that every TopperMail Account holder will receive is actually just their TopperMail email address. Using WKU Webmail, you can access your email using your TopperMail email address (also known as your Windows Live ID).
Student email accounts will start to be federated in 2021. It implies that your student email password and your NetID password will sync. Students can sign in using their email addresses as usernames, but the password may change and become the same as their NetID password. You should try using your NetID password if your student email password isn’t working to access your account.

Differences in WKU accounts
The University of Western Kentucky offers three different types of accounts. They are Toppermail, NetID, and WKUID. What distinguishes these accounts at WKU from one another?

WKU NetID
Active Directory, WKU Blackboard, TopNet, myWKU, and many more different WKU Systems may all be accessed using the NetID. It comes with a NetID Password that is unique from all other WKU accounts.
Once a person has a WKU ID, a NetID is created for them.
How to find your WKU netID
- Go to wku account manager page…wku.edu/it/accounts/manage/.
- Your last name, birthdate, and the final 4 digits of your Social Security number should be entered. Use the last 4 digits of your WKUID if you don’t have a Social Security number.
- Choose Next.
- You will be prompted to input the response if a security question and answer have already been set up. You will be prompted to set up a security question if none has already been established.
- Click Submit Security Answer.
- Your NetID will display in the NetID box.

WKUID
The WKUID has its own six-digit WKU ID PIN and is typically used to log onto TopNet. Additionally, it can be used to log into an application for admission for a student who has already been admitted to WKU.
After the admissions office has assessed an applicant’s application, WKUIDs are generated for the applicant. Once Human Resources has produced a person’s entry in Banner, WKUIDs are also created for employees and affiliates.

- Choose Next.

- Open your WKU account.

WKU toppermail address
Once a student signs up for a course, a TopperMail account is generated for them.
Student email can be accessed using the TopperMail Address. New TopperMail accounts typically have the following formatting: first.last123@topper.wku.edu.
Your NetID password and the password for this account are synchronised.
How to add toppermail to your android device
To connect your TopperMail account to your smartphone,
- Activate the Application Launcher.
- Choose Email.
- When prompted, enter your TopperMail password and complete your email address (for example, big.red123@topper.wku.edu), then click Sign In.
- Select Continue if prompted to sign in with an Internet Account.
- Please enter the required data. You might need to provide both your password and entire email address.
- If prompted, log in using Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication.
- When asked about remote security administration, click OK.
- Name the account as desired.
- To finish the configuration, choose Activate from the device administration screen.
How to add topperMail or exchange account on android gmail
- Open the Gmail application.
- Choose Add account.
- Select Microsoft 365 and Exchange. You might need to upgrade your Gmail app from the Google Play Store if you can’t see this option.
- Enter in your account information as prompted.
- Authenticate with Multi-Factor Authentication if prompted.
- Save the changes.

- Click Next.
- Choose whether to connect your Office Mobile to Dropbox.
- Tap the arrow button.
