- Eligible Countries: All world countries.
- Are female and belong to an emerging market or developing nation. If you have two citizenships, one of which is that of a developed nation, you are ineligible to apply. (Note: If you receive a Faculty for the Future grant and later acquire citizenship in a developed nation, the grant will be terminated as of the date of the addition of the new citizenship;)
- Are preparing for post-doctoral research or a PhD in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, and math). Awards in the biological sciences are only available for work that integrates the physical and biological sciences. The program Faculty for the Future does not support graduate-level studies;
- Are registered at, accepted by, or have applied to an international host university or research centre (applications are no longer accepted where a candidate has not yet applied to a university). If you are applying for a sandwich course, the host university abroad—and not the university in your home country—must issue the final degree;
- Hold an excellent academic record;
- Own a track record of success as a teacher or possess a commitment to teaching;
- Can show active PARTICIPATION in faculty life and outreach initiatives to inspire young girls to pursue science;
- Are willing to support the faculties at your home university, engage in pertinent research, or apply your specialised knowledge to public policy issues in order to help the socio-economic growth of your home country and region.
