NDSU academic calendar fall 2022

In the NDSU academic calendar for the Fall semester of 2022, these are the most important dates and due dates.

  1. Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., is NDSU Move-In Day. When you get there, go to where your hall tells you to check in. Usually, this is the hall office, but signs will confirm this and give more information. The hall staff will give you your room key, student ID, parking permit, and paperwork for checking in. Bring a picture ID with you to this step.
  2. On Monday, August 22, 2022, the fall semester at NDSU will begin. Lessons start at 4 p.m.
  3. The first full day of classes for the Fall semester of 2022 will be on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.
  4. The last day to add your name to a Campus Connection wait list is Monday, August 29, 2022.
  5. The last day to add classes through Campus Connection* is Wednesday, August 31, 2022. After this date, you will need a permit.
  6. The last day to drop classes without leaving a record and get a full refund (only for full semester classes) is Wednesday, August 31, 2022. On the NDSU academic calendar, it is also the last day to Withdraw to Zero Credits and Get a Full Refund (only for full semester classes).
  7. On Wednesday, August 31, 2022, SAP will count the number of attempted credits for financial aid (11:59 p.m.).
  8. Eligible Pell/TEACH/ND Grants/Scholarships based on enrollment at 11:59 p.m. on August 31, 2022.
  9. The NDSU academic calendar for 2022-2023 says that the Labor Day holiday will be on Monday, September 5, 2022.
  10. Tuesday, September 6, 2022, is the day that financial aid is added to NDSU account balances.
  11. Wednesday, September 7, 2022, is the last day to pay off NDSU account balances.
  12. The ND Resident Student Status Application for Fall 2022 has to be sent in by Friday, September 9, 2022.
  13. The last day to send requests to Audit, Pass/Fail is September 12, 2022.
  14. Friday, September 30, 2022, is the last day to withdraw with zero credits and get 75% of your money back (only for full semester classes).
  15. Applications for undergrad and pro fall graduation are due on Friday, October 14, 2022.
  16. On Friday, October 14, 2022, grades of “Incomplete” will change to “F.”
  17. On Saturday, October 15, 2022, late fees are added to account balances that haven’t been paid (11:59 p.m.).
  18. The second half of the 8-week Fall semester starts on Monday, October 20, 2022.
  19. The last day to withdraw to zero credits and get a 50% refund is Sunday, October 30, 2022. (full semester classes only). After this date on the NDSU academic calendar, there are no refunds for dropping out with 0 credits.
  20. Thursday, November 10, 2022, is the last day to drop classes with a “W” record. And the last day to Withdraw to Zero Credits for the Fall.
  21. Friday, November 11, 2022, is Veterans Day.
  22. On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, late fees are added to account balances that haven’t been paid (11:59 p.m.).
  23. Graduate students have until Friday, November 18, 2022 to turn in their first Disquisition for December graduation.
  24. The last day to sign up for the Fall Commencement is Friday, November 18, 2022.
  25. From Wednesday, November 23, 2022, to Friday, November 25, 2022, is Thanksgiving.
  26. From Monday, December 5, 2022, to Friday, December 9, 2022, NDSU will be on “Dead Week.”
  27. On the NDSU academic calendar, grades will start to be entered on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.
  28. Friday, December 9, 2022, is the last day of fall classes.
  29. From Monday, December 12, 2022, to Friday, December 16, 2022, the fall 2022 final exams will be given.
  30. On Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 11:59 p.m., late fees are added to account balances that haven’t been paid.
  31. Graduate students must turn in their Final Disquisition copy by Friday, December 16, 2022, if they want to graduate in December.
  32. The deadline for students who don’t have a master’s paper, thesis, or dissertation to turn in is Friday, December 16, 2022.
  33. On Friday, December 16, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., the NDSU commencement or graduation ceremony will take place at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex.
  34. The fall grades are due by noon on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.
  35. Tuesday, December 20, 2022, late in the evening, online access to fall grades starts.

NDSU academic calendar spring 2023

In the NDSU academic calendar for the spring semester of 2023, these are the most important dates and due dates.

  1. In the first week of October 2022, you will be able to sign up for spring/summer classes.
  2. In the second week of October 2022, you can make an appointment to sign up for spring/summer.
  3. Online registration for spring/summer starts on Thursday, October 27, 2022, based on the total number of credits completed.
  4. On Monday, November 21, 2022, anyone can sign up for spring 2023.
  5. There is a holiday on January 2, 2023. The NDSU academic calendar for 2023 says that New Year’s Day will be celebrated.
  6. Classes for spring 2023 start on Monday, January 9, 2023.
  7. Tuesday, January 10, 2023, is the first full day of classes for the Spring semester of 2023.
  8. Monday, January 16, 2023 is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
  9. Campus Connection Wait Lists can be added to until Wednesday, January 17, 2023.
  10. The last day to add classes through Campus Connection* is Thursday, January 19, 2023. After this date, you will need a permit.
  11. The last day to drop classes without a record and get a full refund (only for full semester classes) is Thursday, January 19, 2023.
  12. Thursday, January 19, 2023, is the last day to withdraw with no credits and get a full refund (only for full-semester classes).
  13. SAP’s deadline for calculating attempted credits for financial aid is Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 11:59 p.m.
  14. Based on enrollment, the deadline for Pell, TEACH, and ND grants and scholarships that are eligible is Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.
  15. NDSU’s academic calendar says that your financial aid will be added to your account balance on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
  16. Wednesday, January 25, 2023, is the last day to pay off NDSU account balances.
  17. The deadline for the ND Resident Student Status Application for Spring 2023 is Friday, January 27, 2023.
  18. Monday, January 30, 2023, is the last day for requests to Audit, Pass/Fail.
  19. On the NDSU calendar for 2023, Presidents’ Day is on Monday, February 20, 2023.
  20. Monday, February 20, 2023, is the last day to withdraw to zero credits and get a 75% refund (full semester classes only).
  21. On Friday, March 3, 2023, grades of “Incomplete” will change to “F.”
  22. The second half of the 8-week Spring semester of 2023 starts on Monday, March 6, 2023.
  23. From Monday, March 13, 2023, to Friday, March 17, 2023, NDSU will be on spring break.
  24. Applications for Undergraduate and Professional Spring and Summer Graduation are due on March 15, 2023.
  25. On March 15, 2023, graduate students will be asked if they plan to graduate.
  26. On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 11:59 p.m., late fees are added to account balances that haven’t been paid.
  27. The last day to withdraw to zero credits and get a 50% refund is March 23, 2023. (full semester classes only). After this date, there are no refunds for withdrawals that leave you with zero credits.
  28. The last day to drop classes with a “W” record is Thursday, April 6, 2023.
  29. Thursday, April 6, 2023, is the last day to Withdraw to Zero Credits for Spring 2023.
  30. From Friday, April 7, 2023, to Monday, April 10, 2023, NDSU will be on spring break. On Friday, there are no classes, and the offices are closed. They will reopen on Monday, April 10.
  31. The last day to sign up for the Spring 2023 Commencement is Friday, April 14, 2023.
  32. Graduate students must turn in their first Disquisition by Friday, April 14, 2023, if they want to graduate in May.
  33. On Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 11:59 p.m., late fees will be added to account balances that haven’t been paid.
  34. From Monday, May 1, 2023, to Friday, May 5, 2023, NDSU will be closed.
  35. The NDSU academic calendar says that grading will start on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
  36. Spring 2023 classes end on Friday, May 5, 2023.
  37. Final exams for the spring of 2023 will be held from Monday, May 8, 2023, to Friday, May 12, 2023.
  38. Graduate students need to turn in their Final Disquisition copy by Friday, May 12, 2023, if they want to graduate in May.
  39. Friday, May 12, 2023 is also the day for students who aren’t turning in a master’s paper, thesis, or dissertation to turn in an Application for Graduate Degree form.
  40. On May 13, 2023, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., the NDSU Commencement or graduation ceremonies will be held at the Fargodome.
  41. The NDSU academic calendar for 2023 says that late fees are added to your unpaid account balances at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023, if you haven’t paid them yet.
  42. Grades for the spring semester of 2023 are due by noon on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

NDSU academic calendar Summer 2022

The following dates show when each session at NDSU starts and ends during the summer.

  • 4-week session 1: May 17 – June 10
  • 4-week session 2: June 14 – July 8
  • 4-week session 3: July 12 – August 5
  • 6-week session 1: May 17 – June 24
  • 6-week session 2: June 28 – August 5
  • 8-week session 1: May 17 – July 8
  • 8-week session 2: June 14 – August 5
  • 12-week session: May 17 – August 5

All sessions

  1. In the first week of March 2022, you will be able to see the schedules for the fall and summer semesters.
  2. In the second week of March 2022, you can make an appointment to sign up for the fall and summer terms.
  3. Online registration for fall and summer starts on Thursday, March 24, 2022, based on the number of completed credits.
  4. On Monday, April 18, 2022, anyone can sign up for the summer and fall semesters.
  5. Memorial Day is a holiday at NDSU on May 30. (no classes, offices closed).
  6. Applications for Undergraduate/Professional Summer Graduation are due on June 15, 2022.
  7. For financial aid SAP, the number of attempted credits is taken into account on Thursday, June 16, 2022. (11:59 p.m.). The Financial Aid Census is also on June 16; Pell, TEACH, and State Grants are given out based on enrollment as of 11:59 p.m.
  8. Once enrollment requirements are met, financial aid will start to be added to the NDSU account balance on Monday, June 20, 2022.
  9. Friday, June 24, 2022, is the last day to pay off any NDSU Summer account balances.
  10. The last day to send in an ND Resident Student Status Application for Summer 2022 is Friday, July 1, 2022.
  11. Independence Day is a holiday on Monday, July 4, 2022. (no classes, offices closed).
  12. Friday, July 8, 2022, is the deadline for graduate students to turn in their initial Disquisitions for graduation in August.
  13. The last day to Withdraw to Zero Credits for Summer is Monday, July 27, 2022.
  14. On the NDSU academic calendar, Friday, August 5 2022 is;
    • Graduate student Summer Application for Graduate Degree due.
    • Graduate student Final Disquisition copy due for August graduation.
    • Students who don’t turn in a master’s paper, thesis, or dissertation can fill out an Application for Graduate Degree.
  15. Summer school will end on Friday, August 5, 2022.
  16. Summer semester Grades are due on Tuesday, 9 2022 (12:00 p.m.). Online access to summer grades starts (late evening).
  17. On Monday, August 15, 2022, a late fee was added to account balances that hadn’t been paid (11:59 p.m.).

  1. Tuesday, May 17, 2022, is the first day of class for the first 4-week session.
  2. Campus Connection wait lists for 4-week session 1 can no longer be added after May 17.

    • Last day to drop a 4-week session 1 class without a record and get a full refund.

  4. The last day to ask for an Audit, Pass/Fail for 4-week session 1 is Friday, May 20, 2022.
  5. Tuesday, May 24, 2022, is the last day to withdraw to zero credits and get a 75% refund (4-week session 1 classes only).
  6. May 24, 2022, is the last day to add summer courses for the first four-week session (appeal needed after this date, contact Registration & Records).
  7. Monday, May 30, 2022, is the last day to withdraw with 0 credits and get a 50% refund (only for 4-week session 1 classes). According to the NDSU academic calendar for 2022-2023, there will be no refunds for students who drop out with zero credits after this date.
  8. Thursday, June 2, 2022, is the last day to drop 4-week session 1 classes with a “W” record.
  9. Classes for 4-week session 1 end on Friday, June 10, 2022.

4-Week Session 2

  1. The second 4-week session of class starts on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
  2. Campus Connection wait lists for 4-week session 2 can no longer be added after June 14.
  3. Wednesday, June 15 2022 is the;
    • Last day to Add classes via Campus Connection for 4-week session 2.
    • Last day to drop two 4-week classes without leaving a record and get a full refund.
    • Last day to withdraw down to zero credits and get a full refund (4-week session 2 classes only).
  4. The last day to ask for an Audit, Pass/Fail for 4-week session 2 is Friday, June 17, 2022.
  5. Tuesday, June 21, is the last day to withdraw to zero credits and get a 75% refund (4-week session 2 classes only).
  6. June 21 is also the last day to add summer classes for the 4-week session 2 (appeal needed after this date, contact Registration & Records).
  7. Monday, June 27, 2022, is the last day to withdraw to zero credits and get a 50% refund (4-week session 2 classes only)
  8. After this date on the NDSU academic calendar, there are no refunds for dropping out with 0 credits.
  9. The last day to drop 4-week session 2 classes with a “W” record is Thursday, June 30, 2022.

4-Week Session 3

  1. Classes begin for 4-week session 3 on Tuesday, July 12 2022.

    • Last day to Add classes via Campus Connection for 4-week session 3.
    • Last day to drop a 4-week session of three classes without leaving a record and get a full refund.

  4. The last day to ask for an Audit, Pass/Fail for 4-week session 3 is Friday, July 15, 2022.
  5. Tuesday, July 19, 2022, is the last day to withdraw to zero credits and get a 75% refund (4-week session 3 classes only).
  6. According to the NDSU academic calendar, the last day to add summer courses during 4 week session 3 is Tuesday, July 19, 2022. If you need to make an appeal after this date, contact Registration and Records.
  7. Monday, July 25, 2022, is the last day to withdraw with 0 credits and get a 50% refund (only for 4 week sessions with 3 classes). After this date, there will be no refunds for withdrawing to zero credits.
  8. The last day to drop 4-week session 3 classes with a “W” record is Thursday, July 28, 2022.
  9. The last day of class for 4-week session 3 is Friday, August 5, 2022.

6-Week Session 1

  2. Campus Connection wait lists for the full 12-week session will close on May 22, 2022.

    • Last day to Add classes via Campus Connection for full 12-week session.
    • Last day to drop a full 12-week session class without a record and get a full refund.
    • Last day to withdraw down to zero credits and get a full refund (12-week session classes only).
  4. The last day to ask for an Audit, Pass/Fail for a full 12-week session is Wednesday, June 1, 2022.
  5. Tuesday, June 7, 2022, is the last day to add summer courses for the 12-week session (appeal needed after this date, contact Registration & Records).
  6. Monday, June 13, is the last day to withdraw to zero credits and get a 75% refund (full 12-week session classes only).
  7. The last day to withdraw to zero credits and get a 50% refund is July 3. (full 12-week session classes only). After this date on the NDSU academic calendar, there will be no refunds for students who drop out with zero credits.
  8. The last day to drop full 12-week classes with a “W” record is July 11, 2022.
  9. 12-week session classes end on Friday, August 5, 2022.
