There are two categories of Heriot-Watt University Postgraduate Merit Awards:
- Equivalent to a first-class bachelor’s degree earned in the United Kingdom (up to £3000).
- Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with a high second class in the UK for merit awards up to £1500.
