Every semester, the FSU Academic Calendar comes out with important dates for registration, payment, graduation, and other academic events.
The Florida State University Academic Calendar for 2022-2023 lists the start and end dates of each semester, legal holidays, admission, readmission, non-degree, and short application deadlines.
FSU Academic Calendar Fall 2022
Check out the FSU academic calendar for the Fall semester of 2022 to see what dates and deadlines are important.
- The Enrollment Appointments calendar and the Exam Schedule list the dates and times for Spring and Fall final exams. From July 18 to August 5, 2022, degree-seeking students who are currently enrolled or who have been readmitted can sign up again for Fall 2022.
- Community college and FSU students have until August 1, 2022 to send in their transient applications for the Fall of 2022.
- The last day to send waivers or bills for Early Disbursement is August 5, 2022.
- Health insurance coverage for the fall only or for the whole year starts on August 15, 2022.
- On August 16, 2022, you can use EFT to get Early Disbursement financial aid.
- The Residence Halls will open at 9 a.m. on August 17, 2022.
- Drop/Add (includes College of Law) starts at 12:01 a.m. on August 20, 2022, and ends at 11:59 p.m. on August 25, 2022.
- On August 21, 2022, at 1 p.m., the FSU Panama City Campus New Student Convocation will be held at the Holley Academic Center (Central Time).
- Fall classes at FSU will start on August 22, 2022.
- The last day to change your residency status is August 22, 2022.
- From August 22, 2022, to August 25, 2022, you can register late for a fee of $100.00.
- On the FSU academic calendar, the fourth day of school is August 25, 2022.
- The last day to drop or add a class and have fees changed is August 25, 2022. At 11:59 p.m., FSU students are responsible for all fees for classes they still have to take.
- On the FSU academic calendar, the last day to drop out and get your fees back is August 25, 2022.
- The last day to add a course without permission from the academic dean is August 25, 2022.
- The fifth day of school is August 26, 2022.
- The last day you can ask for a VA deferment from a VA representative at the Student Veterans Center is August 26, 2022.
- August 26, 2022, is the last day to send in waivers or bills.
- The application period for FSU’s Fall 2022 graduation is from August 29 to September 9, 2022. You can use the website https://my.fsu.edu to apply.
- The first day to apply for financial aid deferments and loans with late delivery is August 30, 2022.
- All students, including veterans who are not using a veteran deferment, have until September 2, 2022 to pay or postpone tuition, housing, or fees without having to pay a $100.00 late fee. If a veteran has questions, he or she should talk to a VA representative.
- On the FSU school calendar, Labor Day is on September 5, 2022.
- The last day to change or cancel Fall-only or Annual Student Health Insurance on the FSU academic calendar is September 15, 2022. This is also the last day to sign up for Fall-only or Annual Student Health Insurance.
- From September 23 to September 25, 2022, FSU Family Weekend will take place.
- On September 26, 2022, you can get the Spring 2023 Registration Guide. The FSU Course Lookup system has a list of classes for the spring of 2023. On the FSU academic calendar, you can sign up for Spring Health Insurance beginning on September 26.
- From September 30 to October 2, 2022, FSU Homecoming will be held. On September 30, there are no classes after 1 p.m.
- On October 7, 2022, the semester’s seventh week will be over.
- October 7, 2022, is the last day to turn in a form for S/U grading or to change the S/U option back to a regular grade.
- On the FSU academic calendar, the last day to drop classes without permission from the academic dean is October 7, 2022. To drop below twelve semester hours, you need permission from the dean.
- The last day to drop a class without getting a grade is October 7, 2022.
- The last day to drop out of school without getting a grade is October 7, 2022.
- The last day to ask for a class schedule that was canceled because tuition wasn’t paid is October 7, 2022.
- On the FSU academic calendar, doctoral students have until October 7, 2022 to take and pass their preliminary exam to add or change dissertation hours for the current semester.
- Deferments on financial aid will end on October 7, 2022. To avoid a late payment fee, tuition must be paid in full.
- For contracts with payments, the last payment is due on October 7, 2022.
- On October 10, 2022, people can start signing up for Spring 2023.
- The last day to turn in a doctoral dissertation or treatise for pre-defense format review is October 24, 2022.
- The 11th week of the semester ends on November 4, 2022, which is the last day to drop out of FAMU-FSU College of Engineering with the dean’s permission.
- The last day to turn in a master’s thesis for pre-defense format review is November 7, 2022.
- The end of the 12th week of the semester, on November 10, 2022, is the deadline for dropping a class late with the dean’s permission.
- The holiday for Veterans Day is on November 11, 2022.
- The post-defense, content-approved thesis, dissertation, treatise, and any forms that go with it must be turned in by November 21, 2022.
- From November 23 to November 27, 2022, is Thanksgiving Day.
- Community college and FSU students have until December 1, 2022 to send in their transient applications for the Spring of 2022.
- The last day of class for the Fall semester of 2022 is December 2, 2022.
- The last day to ask the academic dean for a lighter course load is December 2, 2022.
- The last day to leave the University officially is December 2, 2022.
- The deadline to apply for an AA Degree at the Office of Undergraduate Studies, UCA 3400, is December 2, 2022.
- Veteran’s Deferments expire on December 2, 2022. To avoid a late payment fee, tuition must be paid in full.
- Final Exam Week for the fall of 2022 is December 5–9, 2022.
- The last day of the Fall 2022 Semester is December 9, 2022.
- The deadline for “incomplete” grade extensions is December 9, 2022 at 4 p.m.
- The last day to turn in ServScript hours online is December 9, 2022.
- On the FSU academic calendar, students working on a thesis, dissertation, or treatise will get an email from the Manuscript Clearance Office confirming final clearance on December 9, 2022.
- On December 9, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., graduation ceremonies will be held at Civic Center.
- On December 10, 2022, at noon, the Residence Halls will close.
- Online grades are due by 4 p.m. on December 13, 2022.
- On December 14, 2022, you can check your grades online.
