Undergraduate:
Students beginning their first year of study at Sciences Po are given the Emile Boutmy scholarship.
The Emile Boutmy program is available in a variety of formats:
- A grant to cover a portion of the cost of living of €5000 per year in addition to a grant to cover tuition of €7,300 per year for the three years of the undergraduate program.
- A tuition grant for the three years of the undergraduate degree in the amount of €7,300 per year.
- A tuition grant of €5,000 per year for the three years of the undergraduate program.
- A three-year, €3,000 annual tuition assistance for the undergraduate degree.
On a case-by-case basis, a scholarship worth 19,000 euros for the three years of college may be given. The several entrance juries determine the scholarship amounts.

Eligibility Criteria for Emile Boutmy Scholarship
The following requirements must be met by the applicant in order to be eligible for the Emile Boutmy Scholarship:
- Required Language: English
- Eligible Countries: All world countries
Students who are not eligible are:
- Applicants from Switzerland and Norway, as they may be eligible for CROUS scholarships
- Dual citizenship holders, including those with EU citizenship
- Quebec-based candidates for master’s degrees (since they may take advantage of sliding scale fees same as European applicants). Quebec residents may apply to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
- Applicants for a dual master’s degree. Only candidates seeking the following dual degrees are permitted to apply:
- The Columbia University/Journalism Sciences Po joint degree
- The combined degree from Sciences Po and Fudan University with a focus on global affairs in Europe and Asia (only applicants with Chinese nationality)
- Sciences Po/Peking University dual degree (only applicants with Chinese nationality)
- Ph.D. program students (thesis)
- Candidates for the 1 year Master’s programs
- Bachelor applicants with two degrees (unless as part of a specific agreement)
- Exchange students
- Applicants who use the French graduate admissions process
- Candidates cannot combine their applications for the Emile Boutmy Simple Scholarship with the joint scholarship with CSC.
Unless the jury decides otherwise, the Emile Boutmy scholarship cannot be paired with other awards (such as the Eiffel, AEFE, BGF, etc.).

To apply for this scholarship, please follow the application steps below:
- Students must state in the “Financial information” portion of their Sciences Po application that they are applying for the Emile Boutmy scholarship.
- Please be aware that we may require applicants to submit proof of income and documents describing their family situation (such as both parents’ income tax returns, paystubs, a divorce decree, proof of unemployment benefits, records of alimony, child support, or retirement pensions, or a death certificate, for example).
- Prior to the scholarship application deadline, applicants must additionally submit their language test results, if appropriate.
