Cornell Academic Calendar 2022-2023: Important Dates

1. New first-year students and transfer students can sign up for classes before fall 2022 from July 19 at 9 a.m. to July 22 at 4:30 p.m.
2. Graduate, Professional, and CU Tech students can start adding or dropping classes for Fall 2022 on August 15, 2022.
3. Seniors can start adding or dropping classes for the fall of 2022 on August 16, 2022.
4. The Add/Drop period for juniors starts on August 17, 2022.
5. The Add/Drop period for sophomores starts on August 18, 2022.
6. First-years can start adding or dropping classes for Fall 2022 on August 19, 2022.
7. The day to move into Cornell University in 2022 is August 18 or 19, or the morning of August 20.

9. 7 Week 1 Add ends on August 29, 2022.
10. Monday, September 5, 2022, is Labor Day.
11. The last day to add or change classes is September 6, 2022.
12. September 9, 2022, is the last day to sign up.
13. 7 Week 1 Drop ends on September 19, 2022.
14. Cornell will be on fall break from October 8 to October 11, 2022.
15. Indigenous Peoples’ Day is on Monday, October 10, 2022.
16. On Wednesday, October 12, 2022, fall classes will start up again.
17. Fall 7 Class for Week 2 starts on October 12, 2022.
18. The last day to drop classes or change the way grades are given is October 17, 2022.
19. 7 Week 2: You have until October 21, 2022, to add or change credits.
20. 7 Week 2 drop or change grading basis end on November 11 2022.
21. The Thanksgiving break in 2022 starts on November 23 and ends on November 27.
22. After Thanksgiving break, school starts back up on Monday, November 28, 2022.
23. The Fall semester at Cornell University will end on Monday, December 5, 2022.
24. From Tuesday, December 6, 2022, to Thursday, December 8, 2022, there will be a study period.
25. The fall exam at Cornell starts on Friday, December 9, 2022, and ends on Saturday, December 17, 2022.
26. On December 18, 2022, the ceremony for December graduates will take place.

2. Classes for the 3-week Winter session start on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

1. From January 18 to February 8, 2022, spring add starts for Grad/Prof/Seniors.
2. Juniors can start adding Spring 22 from January 19 to February 8, 2022.

4. Freshmen can start spring term from January 21 to February 8, 2022.
5. Classes for spring 2022 start on January 25, 2022.

13. The last day to drop a class or change how grades are given is March 22, 2022.
14. 7 Week 2 add ends March 23 2022.
15. Cornell is a college. From April 2 to April 10, 2022, is spring break.
16. On Monday, April 11, classes will start up again.
17. The last day of school will be May 10, 2022.
18. From May 14 to May 21, 2022, spring finals will be given.
19. Name/Address changes for Diploma – May Graduates must be made by May 27, 2022.
20. Cornell University has its graduation on May 28 and 29.
